Apple have announced two new macs. The new iMac and MacBook Pro. These two new machines feature the new Intel Dual Core processors. “Core Duo” basically boils down to two processors in the space of one, this means a massive increase of performance.
The new iMac is shipping now with its 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo processor and the MacBook will be arriving in early February boasting the 1.67 or 1.83GHz processor and 15.4-inch widescreen display with built in iSight.
What a great way to start the year.

Hi, what a great way to start a new year. Start saving money ;-) What do you think, is this the follow up for the iBook or the Powerbook, or is this a compleet new product line?
Arjan
Completely new as its a new chip. The “Power” in the old Powerbooks came from the name on the chip “PowerPC” so this is realy replacing the powerbook line. I WANT ONE :)
like napoleon… I WANT ONE REAL BAD…..
Every time I talk to somebody about the new laptop I can never remeber the name. iMacPro book, bookPowerPro, MacIn a box. My little head cant take it any more.
I agree Jackie the name is a bit odd at first, but I’m getting used to it.
And Rob, HECK I want one too!
